Mexico vs S. Korea
I went to Dave & Buster's for the Mexico versus South Korea game, and for the first time in a long time, I felt like I had an amazing time. I was just by myself, drinking my Pacifico and a Modelo with the driest lime wedges I've ever gotten. That kind of reminded me of that one time I went to Fairfield to a Buffalo Wild Wings and I asked for some chips and guacamole. I got a whole avocado (smashed) but it didn't have any onions, tomatoes, or seasoning. It was just a plain smashed avocado. And that was my avocado and chips.
Anyway, the game finished, and it went almost exactly as I had thought. I thought they played very safely. I had a Kalshi bet that Mexico would win the game by over two points, but that didn't happen. (This is why I don’t gamble.)
In any case, I decided that I wanted to go to a gay bar out of the blue but that I didn’t want to travel too far. The original gay bar that I was going to go to was the one on Sierra Madre and Foothill, which is called The Boulevard. When I Googled the Boulevard, another one came up called The Buccaneer. I said, "Fine, I'll go to The Buccaneer."
The area The Buccaneer is located seemed very familiar to me, and it was because the 487 takes you into that area. If you know anything about the 487, it's a very long LA Metro bus. It literally goes from El Monte up to Arcadia, to Sierra Madre, Duarte somewhere in there, then It comes back down, it goes onto a freeway. It is one of the longest bus lines there.
So, I went to The Buccaneer because Google supposedly said it was a gay bar, but I went in there, and it wasn't really that gay. Or, if it was gay, it wasn't so openly gay. So, I ended up getting an old-fashioned. It was a good little hidden bar. No one knew me there, so that's good. The old-fashioned was good but there was only one restroom.
So, this one going to be one of those bars that I go to when I want to watch a game in peace. What I would do is get there early, for parking. And probably eat before I get there. The Buccaneer doesn’t do food. It does do Apple Pay, so that’s good too.
In any case, it was pretty all right. Then, not only that, I noticed that right across from The Buccaneer, there's a Lucky Baldwins. By the way: There’s another Lucky Baldwins over in Pasadena.
Would I recommend it? I don't know. There are probably other places to go, but The Buccaneer is a 6 out of 10 at the most.
